Jude Law’s Riff Raff Entertainment Expands to Hollywood with Bold New Vision
Actor Jude Law’s production company, Riff Raff Entertainment, is stepping into an exciting new phase — expanding its footprint, launching fresh projects, and even setting up shop in Los Angeles. Co-founded in 2017 with long-time collaborator Ben Jackson, the company has steadily grown from an ambitious idea into one of the more dynamic independent production outfits in the film industry today.
Law and Jackson’s partnership goes back to their first meeting in 2000 at a pub in London’s Primrose Hill — a fittingly creative beginning for what would become a serious collaboration years later. Their early projects, like Harry Wootliff’s True Things (2021), helped establish Riff Raff’s reputation for intelligent, character-driven storytelling. Then in 2022, investment from Calculus Capital provided the financial foundation that allowed them to take bigger creative risks.
Despite challenges like the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes that halted much of the industry, Riff Raff managed to complete Justin Kurzel’s The Order before the disruption. Once production resumed, they jumped back in with the Netflix series Black Rabbit , signaling their resilience and adaptability.
The company has also struck strategic deals to expand its reach — a first-look agreement with Anton for film projects and a partnership with Studio TF1 for television. These collaborations give Riff Raff access to broader markets while maintaining creative independence. “It’s win-win for us,” said Jackson, explaining how the interconnected partnerships help their projects find the right homes.

Now, Riff Raff has its sights set on opening an office in Los Angeles — a move that reflects its growing influence. Jude Law himself has been vocal about the company’s mission to nurture emerging talent. “Nurturing other people’s ideas and passions is key to our long-term survival,” he explained, emphasizing that Riff Raff isn’t just a vehicle for his own career.
The upcoming slate looks promising. One highly anticipated project is 25 Scenes , written by Sharon Horgan, which will star Law and is currently seeking a director. Another is The Whole World Is Watching , a political drama based on the legendary 1968 debate between Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley Jr. Beyond those, there’s Fireworks Every Night , set in 1990s Florida, and Volatiles , inspired by the true story of Joy Milne, a woman who could detect Parkinson’s disease through smell.
On the TV side, Riff Raff is developing a BBC series about two female detectives and another show titled The Club for Hulu, written by Ozark and Daredevil writer Whit Anderson.
Jude Law often credits industry mentors like the late Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack for shaping his philosophy of filmmaking — one grounded in collaboration and creativity.
