The streets of New York City are about to light up with holiday magic as the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade prepares to roll through Manhattan on Thursday, November 27, 2025. This year, excitement is being fueled by the addition of two new balloons inspired by the Netflix hit film, KPop Demon Hunters . Fans of the animated movie will be thrilled to see Derpy Tiger and Sussie soar above the crowds. The film, which follows a pop girl group defending South Korea from demons, has captivated audiences worldwide, amassing over 325 million views in just 91 days, making it Netflix’s most popular film ever.

Macy’s preview video shows the characters being tested for the parade, highlighting the incredible scale and detail of these towering floats. Derpy Tiger alone stretches 39 feet long and stands two stories tall. It joins 34 other massive balloons, including returning favorites like Snoopy, Bluey, Spider-Man, and SpongeBob, as well as new additions like Pixar’s Buzz Lightyear, Nintendo’s Mario, PAC-MAN, and Shrek’s Onion Carriage. A 16-foot-tall Labubu balloon, based on the popular collectible toy, will debut on the Pop Mart “POPCITY” float.

The parade’s lineup is as dazzling as its balloons. Performers from Broadway shows like Ragtime , Just in Time , and Buena Vista Social Club will take the stage, alongside musical stars such as Ciara, Jewel, Foreigner, Debbie Gibson, Busta Rhymes, and Christopher Jackson. “KPop Demon Hunters” fans can catch the voices of EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami performing as the HUNTR/X group, adding a live soundtrack to the balloon’s journey. The Radio City Rockettes will celebrate their centennial anniversary with show-stopping routines, while other highlights include Olympic skaters, special correspondents, and marching bands from across the country, including the NYPD Police Band.

The parade will kick off at 8:30 a.m. ET from 77th Street and Central Park West, weaving its way down Sixth Avenue to Macy’s flagship store at 34th Street. Millions of spectators are expected along the route, with over 50 million viewers tuning in nationwide via NBC, Peacock, or an encore broadcast at 2 p.m. ET/PT. The Balloon Inflation Celebration on Thanksgiving Eve, a beloved tradition since 1994, allows fans to watch the giant balloons being prepared for the big day.

Macy’s parade producer Will Coss shared, “On Thanksgiving morning, larger-than-life character balloons, awe-inspiring floats, and showstopping performances will create unforgettable and lasting holiday memories for millions.” From the first parade in 1924 to today, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has become a cherished holiday tradition, and with new pop culture icons like Derpy Tiger taking flight, this year promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

Whether watching in person or from the comfort of your home, the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is poised to bring joy, excitement, and a sense of wonder to the holiday season. Santa Claus, as always, will conclude the procession, officially welcoming the Christmas festivities to the Big Apple.
