Lou-Adriane Cassidy Dominates the 47th ADISQ Gala

Last night, the 47th ADISQ Gala turned into a dazzling celebration of talent, and at the center of it all was Lou-Adriane Cassidy. With four Félix awards added to the eight already won earlier in the week during the Industry Gala and the First Gala, Cassidy walked away with an astonishing total of twelve statuettes, marking one of the most remarkable achievements in the history of the event. It was a night that felt almost cinematic, a true fairy tale for the artist whose album Journal d’un Loup-Garou has captured both critical acclaim and public admiration.

Cassidy’s first award of the evening, for Show of the Year, was met with heartfelt words: she encouraged everyone to be ambitious and to not let fear or doubt stop them from pursuing their ideas. Her message was clear and inspiring: if we’re unsure of what we’re doing, we should at least do something. The sincerity and passion behind her words resonated throughout the audience and set the tone for a night of celebration.

Seated next to rock legend Marjo, one of her artistic mentors, Cassidy was praised and supported long before she became a household name. This recognition from a seasoned artist added a special significance to her victories. Moreover, the gala underscored a major theme of the evening: it was a big year for women in music. Cassidy herself acknowledged the rarity of female recipients in major categories, joining an elite group of women like Louise Forestier, Francine Raymond, Klô Pelgag, and Alexandra Stréliski who had earned the author-composer award before her.

Her song Dis-moi dis-moi dis-moi , which addresses the deeply personal experience of her father’s abandonment, was named Song of the Year, leaving Cassidy visibly moved and proud of the work she has created from such personal experiences. She capped her night with the Artist of the Year award, visibly overwhelmed by the recognition and affection she received.

The evening also celebrated other remarkable talents. Pierre Lapointe won Artist of the Year (Male), marking a long-awaited recognition in his career. The young Billie du Page earned the Revelation of the Year award, while Elisapie secured her third Félix as Indigenous Artist of the Year, celebrating the richness and history of Indigenous music. The Cowboys Fringants added another trophy to their collection with Album of the Year – Popular Success, and 2Frères were recognized as Group or Duo of the Year.

The gala, held at Place des Arts and broadcast live on ICI Télé, combined stellar performances with playful and heartfelt moments. Highlights ranged from humor-infused sketches by host Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais to unforgettable collaborations on stage, including Cassidy and her friend Ariane Roy delivering a powerful joint performance. The event was both a tribute to the past and a celebration of the present, reminding audiences of the vitality and diversity of Quebec’s music scene.

In a year marked by triumphs, recognition, and record-breaking achievements, Lou-Adriane Cassidy’s sweep at the 47th ADISQ Gala will be remembered as a defining moment, a night where talent, dedication, and artistry were celebrated in spectacular fashion.
