Exciting news for all Marvel Rivals fans—Season 5 is officially launching today, November 14th, 2025! Players around the world are gearing up for a fresh chapter in the popular superhero team-based PvP shooter. The update is set to go live at 09:00 UTC, following a scheduled two-hour maintenance window. This new season brings a lot of exciting changes, from a brand-new hero to fresh maps, stories, and gameplay systems.
The spotlight of Season 5 is on Gambit, who enters the Marvel Rivals universe as a Strategist. Known for his kinetic energy powers, Gambit can launch playing cards at enemies, heal allies, and even apply anti-heal effects to opponents. His agility and quick dashes make him a versatile hero on the battlefield. Fans will also enjoy his Team Up with Magneto, creating new strategic opportunities and boosting Gambit’s health when teamed with the Master of Magnetism. Rogue will join later in the season during the 5.5 update on December 12th, 2025, completing the iconic duo.

Season 5 introduces the new Times Square map, a non-combat hub where up to 100 players can interact, dance, watch videos, read books, or simply hang out. The new serial story, Love is a Battlefield , along with Gambit’s lore, Deal of a Lifetime
The Battle Pass comes loaded with 10 all-new heroic costume sets, and the season event, Elders’ Chessboard, allows players to earn a free Spider-Man Iron Spider costume. Competitive play has also been adjusted: the first 10 ranked matches now serve as Placement Matches, determining players’ starting tiers. Gold-tier rewards and season-end accolades, like the Gambit Sacrificial Pawn costume, are now easier to manage, with certain rewards granted once per season instead of half-season intervals.
Additional gameplay improvements include hero balancing for over 20 characters, from Angela and Captain America to Wolverine and Phoenix. No outright nerfs were added this season, but buffs are significant, promising a shake-up of the current meta. Performance optimizations and bug fixes have been implemented across all platforms, ensuring smoother gameplay and a better experience for fans.
Twitch Drops are back, offering the Phoenix - Will of Galacta costume and related bundle content, running from November 14th to December 12th, 2025. College Perk costumes have been refreshed for several heroes, and new accessories for favorites like Human Torch, Thor, Moon Knight, and Star-Lord are now available in-store.
