Miranda Priestly Returns — “The Devil Wears Prada 2” Trailer Takes Fans by Storm
It’s time to “gird your loins” once again — because The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially happening, and the first teaser trailer has just dropped! Nearly two decades after the original film became a global sensation, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are reuniting as Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled.
The 52-second teaser clip opens with that familiar sound of high heels clicking across the polished floors of Runway magazine. Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly, ever the embodiment of power and poise, strides confidently through the halls in striking red stilettos. Then, the elevator doors slide open, and standing there is none other than Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs — her once timid assistant, now calm and collected. Miranda looks her up and down and mutters, “Took you long enough.” Andy just smiles and slips on a pair of black sunglasses. It’s a short moment, but one that perfectly captures the sharp chemistry that made the first film unforgettable.

The sequel, produced by 20th Century Studios, will follow Miranda Priestly as she navigates a drastically changing media landscape. With print journalism fading fast, she’s forced to adapt or be left behind. But things take an intriguing turn when she finds herself going head-to-head with Emily Charlton, played by Emily Blunt, her former junior assistant who has now become a high-powered executive for a luxury conglomerate controlling the advertising dollars Miranda desperately needs. It’s an unexpected role reversal — and one that’s bound to bring plenty of drama, power struggles, and those iconic one-liners the franchise is known for.
The original Devil Wears Prada , released in 2006, was both a critical and commercial success, earning $326 million worldwide. It followed Andy Sachs, a young aspiring journalist, as she tried to survive the demanding world of high fashion under Miranda’s iron rule. The film became a modern classic, thanks to its wit, sharp dialogue, and powerhouse performances from Streep, Hathaway, and Blunt.
This time, familiar faces like Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms, and Tibor Feldman are returning, while new stars join the cast — including Kenneth Branagh as Miranda’s husband, Simone Ashley in a mystery role, and Patrick Brammall as Andy’s new love interest. Lucy Liu, B.J. Novak, Justin Theroux, and Pauline Chalamet have also signed on, promising an even more dynamic ensemble.
One key absence, however, will be Adrian Grenier, who played Nate, Andy’s boyfriend in the original. His character won’t be returning for the sequel, signaling a fresh chapter for Andy both personally and professionally.
With Meryl Streep’s icy poise and Anne Hathaway’s charm back on screen together, The Devil Wears Prada 2 looks set to deliver nostalgia, fashion, and plenty of attitude — proving that in the world of Runway , style and ambition never go out of fashion.
