Morgan Geyser, 'Slender Man' Attacker, Escapes Monitoring and Goes Missing
Morgan Geyser, the woman infamous for stabbing her classmate to impress the fictional horror character Slender Man, has cut off her monitoring bracelet and disappeared. The 23-year-old was last seen in Madison, Wisconsin, on the evening of November 22, 2025, leaving a group home with an adult acquaintance. Police have launched an investigation but have not yet been able to locate her.
This shocking development comes after Geyser had spent years in a psychiatric hospital following her role in a chilling 2014 attack. At just 12 years old, Geyser, along with her friend Anissa Weier, lured their classmate, Peyton Leutner, into a park and stabbed her 19 times in an attempt to please Slender Man. The attack, which stunned the nation, left Leutner fighting for her life but ultimately surviving, crawling to safety and being rescued by a passing cyclist.

Geyser, Weier, and Leutner were all 12 years old at the time. They claimed they believed Slender Man would harm their families if they did not commit the attack. After the stabbing, Geyser and Weier were arrested while walking along the highway, having planned to walk to Slender Man’s supposed mansion in northern Wisconsin.
In 2017, Geyser pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder, citing her mental illness as a factor in the crime. She was sentenced to a mental health facility for up to 40 years. Weier, who was also diagnosed with a mental illness, pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree homicide and was committed to a psychiatric hospital for 25 years. She was released in 2021, subject to living with her father and wearing a GPS monitor.
Geyser, however, had been granted conditional release earlier this year after being evaluated by experts who determined that she had made progress in her treatment. She was moved to a group home in Madison, where she had been living until her recent escape. It is unclear how she managed to remove her monitoring bracelet, and authorities are still investigating if anyone helped her.
Her attorney, Tony Cotton, has urged her to turn herself in, stating that it is not in her best interest to remain on the run. Geyser’s whereabouts are currently unknown, and police are continuing their search. This incident has once again brought attention to the haunting "Slender Man" case and the mental health issues involved in such violent crimes.
