PWHL Expands 2025-26 Takeover Tour With 16 Neutral-Site Games Across North America
The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has just announced some exciting news — the return and major expansion of its popular Takeover Tour for the 2025–26 season. Building on the massive success of last year’s event, which drew over 123,000 fans across nine games, the league is now taking things to a whole new level with 16 neutral-site regular-season games spread across 11 cities in both the U.S. and Canada.
The idea behind the Takeover Tour is simple but powerful — bring world-class women’s hockey to cities beyond the league’s home markets and give fans everywhere a chance to experience the energy of the PWHL in person. And judging by last season’s packed arenas, the excitement for women’s hockey is stronger than ever.
This season’s expanded schedule includes new stops in Calgary, Chicago, Dallas, Halifax, Hamilton, Washington, D.C., and Winnipeg , along with returns to Denver, Detroit, Edmonton, and Québec City . Each location will host one or more official league games that count toward the regular-season standings, giving fans a meaningful experience — not just exhibition play.

Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena , which set a U.S. attendance record for professional women’s hockey with over 14,000 fans last March, will host games for the third straight year. Meanwhile, venues like Edmonton’s Rogers Place and Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre are gearing up for multiple matchups that promise electric atmospheres.
The 16-game tour will run from December 17, 2025, through April 7, 2026 , with games taking place mostly in major NHL arenas. Every PWHL team will participate in at least three games, though some will be on the road more often than others. The Montréal Victoire, New York Sirens, and Vancouver Goldeneyes are each set to play five Takeover Tour games, while the Ottawa Charge and Seattle Torrent will play four. The Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, and Toronto Sceptres will each take part in three.
Fans in Canada can also thank DoorDash , which has been named the title partner for all eight Canadian stops. Additional presenting partners include Ally Financial, Explore Edmonton, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Woody Creek Distillers, and the Province of Nova Scotia — all stepping up to support the growing league.
Last year’s Takeover Tour wasn’t just a sports event — it was a statement. The league attracted fans from all 50 U.S. states and every Canadian province and territory, with about 80% of attendees watching their first-ever PWHL game . That surge in interest even helped pave the way for league expansion, with Seattle and Vancouver officially joining as new franchises earlier this year.
Now, as the PWHL continues its mission to grow the game and showcase the best women’s hockey talent on the planet, this upcoming Takeover Tour is shaping up to be another milestone moment — one that’s bringing fans closer to the action, one city at a time.
Tickets go on sale starting November 13 for presales and November 14 for the general public, available through the league’s official site at thepwhl.com/tickets .
