Slack Faces Major Outage, Thousands of Users Report Disruption

For many workers, the timing couldn’t have been worse. As one user joked on X (formerly Twitter), “Slack outage?? In the middle of a super busy Monday, of course.” Others expressed confusion as Slack’s own status page continued to show “all systems operational,” even while users were clearly experiencing disruptions. One post read, “Slack status page says green — clearly it’s not,” while another added humor to the mix: “Slack died for like one minute, and for that one minute, I felt truly free.”
As the outage unfolded, Slack’s technical team began investigating what they called a “new incident.” Later updates indicated that engineers had identified the issue and were working on a fix. Around 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time, reports of user problems began to drop sharply, suggesting that service was gradually being restored. Slack confirmed that their health metrics were showing signs of improvement but noted that “work on this issue is still ongoing.”
