Sanna Marin Celebrates Night Out in Helsinki with Friends and Ex
This past weekend, former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin was spotted enjoying a lively night out in Helsinki, and it wasn’t a quiet affair. After a full day attending two separate events to promote her new book Toivo on tekoja , Marin’s evening took her to the heart of Helsinki’s nightlife.
During the day, she spoke at the “Charlie goes to” event at Tanssin talo, a business-oriented gathering aimed at women. Later, she appeared at a book-related event at the University of Helsinki. But as the night fell, Marin’s day transitioned into celebration. According to reports, she headed to H2O2, a new nightclub in Sörnäinen that caters to queer communities, and arrived with a sizable group of friends and acquaintances.

Her company included some familiar faces: her ex-husband Markus Räikkönen, her known partner Joni Willberg, actress Minka Kuustonen, TV host Christoffer Strandberg, Tampere’s mayor Ilmari Nurminen with his fiancée Aapo Hettula, Member of Parliament Nasima Razmyar, media personality Sauli Koskinen, and journalist Ina Mikkola. Sources say the group enjoyed themselves freely, dancing and socializing well into the early hours of Sunday morning. Some of the attendees chose not to comment on the festivities, while Koskinen declined to speak about the night entirely.
H2O2, where the celebrations took place, is recognized for welcoming sexual and gender minority communities. The nightclub’s Instagram page emphasizes that it operates until next spring and attracts patrons from various queer subcultures, providing a vibrant and inclusive space.
Later on, Marin hosted a private book launch party at the Pacifico x Tenho restaurant on Helsinginkatu. This venue, which recently reopened after a ten-year hiatus, is known for its weekend brunches and colorful Pacific-themed interiors. Drinks were provided at the door for the evening, and guests were treated to a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Among the attendees was equestrian star Marko Björs, who described the event as “friendly, warm, and laid-back.”
Marin and Willberg, who have been seen together occasionally over the past months, were part of the celebration, though the couple keeps their relationship largely private. A tender public moment between them was captured earlier in February at the Emma Gala, showing Marin affectionately touching Willberg’s cheek.
Overall, the night highlighted a different side of Sanna Marin—a former political leader enjoying the freedom to socialize, celebrate, and connect with friends in Helsinki’s vibrant nightlife. It seems that after her busy public engagements, she was ready to embrace a spirited night out, surrounded by a diverse and high-profile circle of friends.
