Timberwolves Look to Continue Dominance Over Kings Monday Night
Tonight, we’ve got an interesting Western Conference matchup as the Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Sacramento Kings. The Timberwolves have been on a solid run lately, winning seven of their last ten games, and they’re favored to take this one on the road. Minnesota comes in with confidence, especially after dominating Sacramento in their previous meetings this season, winning by 27 on the road and 14 in an NBA Cup clash.
The Kings, on the other hand, are coming off arguably their best win of the 2025-26 season, taking down the Denver Nuggets on Saturday. That victory came without Domantas Sabonis, who is sidelined for multiple weeks with a torn meniscus, and it’s a big loss for Sacramento. With Sabonis out, the Kings are underdogs tonight, facing a Minnesota frontcourt that boasts Julius Randle, Naz Reid, and Rudy Gobert.

Looking at the odds, the Timberwolves are favored by 9.5 points, with a moneyline of -395, while the Kings sit at +310. The total points for the game is set at 238.5. Minnesota has a strong 10-6 record so far this season, while Sacramento is struggling at 4-13. Injury reports don’t change much for Minnesota, with Enrique Freeman available, Terrence Shannon Jr. questionable, and Rocco Zikarsky out. The Kings have a longer list of absences with Sabonis, Daeqwon Plowden, Dylan Cardwell, and Isaiah Stevens all sidelined.
One prop to watch tonight is Anthony Edwards. He’s had a strong start to the season, averaging 26.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. However, in the prop market, Edwards might be overvalued as a passer. He’s only recorded five or more assists in five of his twelve games, and his potential assists have dropped from 8.4 last season to 6.5 this season. So, hitting over 4.5 assists tonight could be challenging against a Kings team that ranks 28th in the NBA for opponent assists per game.
All signs point toward Minnesota continuing their dominance. The Timberwolves are 5-3 on the road, and Sacramento is struggling badly at home, going just 1-6 against the spread with an average scoring margin of -15.1. The Kings’ net rating, offensive rating, and defensive rating are all near the bottom of the league, while Minnesota sits sixth in net rating at +5.5, even with Anthony Edwards missing some time earlier this season.
Tonight, expect the Timberwolves to control the game and extend their winning streak over the Kings. The pick: Timberwolves -9.5. Minnesota looks poised to make a statement on the road once again.
