Trump Reignites Criticism of London Mayor Sadiq Khan Amid Rising Crime Concerns

US President Donald Trump has once again targeted London Mayor Sadiq Khan, renewing his long-standing feud with the British leader during a recent interview. Labeling Khan a “terrible mayor” and a “nasty person,” Trump expressed his frustration with the rising crime rates in London, criticizing the mayor’s handling of law and order in the city.

Speaking with GB News, Trump did not hold back in his criticism, claiming, “Your mayor is a disaster. If you put him there, I wouldn't even know who he was. He's a disaster, he's a nasty person, and he's letting crime go right up.” Trump’s remarks were focused on the increasing crime rate in London, which he blamed on Khan’s leadership. He alleged that there are areas of the city so dangerous that police “don’t even want to go near,” further asserting that Sharia Law is allegedly being enforced in some neighborhoods, a claim that has been widely disputed by UK authorities in the past.

Trump’s comments come as a continuation of an ongoing war of words between the two leaders, which began during Trump’s first term in office. Back then, Khan had been vocal in criticizing Trump’s policies, particularly his controversial proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States. Trump, in turn, had called Khan a “stone-cold loser,” a label he has continued to use to describe the mayor.

Khan, for his part, has responded in the past by accusing Trump of targeting him because of his Muslim background and opposing his inclusive policies. The mayor has also pointed out that Trump’s “toxic politics” are not in tune with the values of a diverse, modern society.

As the feud continues, it’s clear that both leaders have little hope of reconciliation, with Trump doubling down on his attacks while Khan remains steadfast in his leadership, despite the persistent criticism. The broader issue of rising crime in major cities, however, remains a divisive topic, with leaders on both sides of the debate continuing to seek solutions to restore order and security.
