Yoplait Yogurt Recall in Canada Due to Plastic Pieces
A nationwide recall has been issued for several Yoplait YOP drinkable yogurt products in Canada, after it was discovered that the yogurt may contain plastic pieces. The recall, announced by Yoplait Canada, involves various flavours of the drink, including blueberry, vanilla, strawberry, and mermaid blackberry starfruit. These products come in 200-millilitre sizes, both as individual bottles and in six, twelve, or fifteen-pack options.
While no injuries have been reported in connection with the recall, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has stepped in to ensure that the affected products are removed from shelves. The recall specifically targets products with best-before dates up to and including January 12, 2026. Some of the multi-pack products carry a more specific expiration date: “03JAN6AY."

Consumers who have purchased any of the affected products are strongly advised not to consume, serve, or sell them. Additionally, retailers have been instructed not to offer these items for sale. Instead, the products should either be discarded or returned to the store where they were purchased for a refund.
The CFIA is also conducting a food safety investigation to determine whether other products could be affected by this issue. They are working to ensure that any recalled items are swiftly and efficiently removed from stores to protect public health.
As of now, there have been no reports of injuries related to the plastic contamination, but consumers are urged to take caution and follow the recall guidelines carefully. This action highlights the importance of vigilance in food safety, particularly when unexpected contaminants such as plastic pieces are found in widely-consumed products.
