So, there’s a lot of buzz right now around Dani Dyer-Bowen, and for good reason. The former Love Island winner has officially joined the line-up for the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins , which is returning in January. This time, the demanding military-style reality show will take place in North Africa, where celebrities are pushed through rigorous SAS-level training. And for Dani, it’s a pretty big moment, especially after she was forced to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing earlier this year.

Dani, who’s now 29 and married to England and West Ham United footballer Jarrod Bowen, has been very open about why she signed up. She said she’s always been a huge fan of the show and often wondered whether she could actually handle something that intense. In her own words, she wants to put herself to the test, even if it means stepping completely outside her comfort zone. Dani joked that she’s “nuts,” but she still believes there might be something in her that can rise to the challenge.

What’s interesting is how honest she is about the mental side of things. She said that physically she feels capable, but mentally she knows it could be tough because, as she put it, her “brain attacks” her all the time. She hopes the experience helps her believe in herself a bit more and stop being, as she called it, a “negative Nancy.” It’s a very real and relatable reason to take on something so extreme.

She won’t be doing it alone, of course. The line-up is packed with familiar faces, including fellow Love Island alum Gabby Allen, TV personality Jessika Power, social media creators Jack Joseph and Cole Anderson-James, and actors like Ryan Moloney and Natalie Bassingthwaighte. There’s also a strong sports presence with rugby World Cup winner Ben Cohen, Olympian Toby Olubi, cricketers Graeme Swann and Brad Hodge, and swimmers Emily Seebohm and Mack Horton. Even Home and Away actor and musician Axle Whitehead is part of the group.

Former England cricketer Graeme Swann shared that he joined mainly to push himself beyond his limits and show his children that tough challenges can be conquered simply by keeping on going.

This eight-part series will also feature a competitive twist: Team Australia versus Team UK. Chief instructor Billy Billingham and his fellow directing staff—Jason “Foxy” Fox, Rudy Reyes, and Chris Oliver—will return to oversee the brutal training. Billingham hinted that this series will be especially intense, combining the fierce environment of North Africa with high-stakes national pride.

And unlike many reality shows, there are no weekly eliminations. Instead, contestants are removed only if the directing staff decide they can’t continue, or they withdraw themselves. Whoever survives to the end is declared the winner.

The show launches in January, and although the exact date hasn’t been released yet, anticipation is already building. Dani Dyer-Bowen stepping into the SAS arena is definitely something fans will be watching closely.
