Guy Ritchie Reinvents Sherlock Holmes With a Bold Young Origin Story

Prime Video has officially released the trailer for “Young Sherlock,” a new mystery series that imagines Sherlock Holmes not as the calm, calculating legend we all know, but as a restless, troubled adolescent just beginning to discover who he really is. Hero Fiennes Tiffin steps into the role of the young Sherlock, taking on a character who is still learning how to harness his intellect and instincts. He’s joined by an impressive supporting cast that includes Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons, and Colin Firth. With that lineup, the series is clearly aiming for depth, drama, and strong character dynamics alongside the mystery.
For Guy Ritchie, this project marks a return to familiar territory. He previously brought Sherlock Holmes to the big screen in 2009 with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, followed by a sequel in 2011. This time, though, the focus has shifted from blockbuster spectacle to long-form storytelling. Ritchie is directing the first two episodes and is also serving as an executive producer, helping to set the tone and visual style early on.
