Lotto Max $80 Million Jackpot Rolls On as No Winner Emerges

If you were hoping to hear that someone walked away with the massive Lotto Max jackpot this week, that moment is going to have to wait a little longer. The $80 million top prize is still sitting there, untouched, after Tuesday night’s draw failed to produce a winning ticket. Once again, the numbers were called, tickets were checked, and no one matched all of them, which means the jackpot continues to grow and the excitement builds even more.

According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, this was the fourth straight draw where the top prize went unclaimed. As a result, the spotlight now shifts to the next draw, scheduled for Friday on Boxing Day, and it’s shaping up to be a huge one. The total prize pool will now reach an eye-popping $126 million. That figure includes the original $80 million jackpot along with 46 Maxmillions prizes, each worth $1 million. In simple terms, there will be a lot of chances for people to become millionaires, even if the main jackpot still isn’t won.

While no one claimed the grand prize on Tuesday, it wasn’t a quiet night for lottery players in Ontario. Several significant wins were recorded across the province. A second-prize Lotto Max ticket worth about $1.2 million was sold in Markham, which is still a life-changing amount by any standard. On top of that, $1 million Maxmillions prizes were sold in Ajax, Etobicoke, and Mississauga. Smaller, but still impressive, wins also showed up, including $500,000 split-ticket prizes in places like Toronto, Nepean, and Woodbridge. In one case, a Toronto ticket shared a $1 million prize with a ticket sold in Western Canada.

Even the Encore draw delivered some good news, with four tickets winning $100,000 each. Those were sold in Brampton, Kitchener, the Haliburton–Muskoka region, and Simcoe County, spreading the luck across different parts of Ontario.

All of this just adds to the buzz around Lotto Max, especially when you consider the history. The largest total prizing ever seen in a single Lotto Max draw was $140 million back in June 2021, when a $70 million jackpot was paired with 70 Maxmillions prizes. While this upcoming draw doesn’t quite reach that record, it’s getting close enough to turn heads.

So for now, the $80 million dream is still alive. Tickets will be checked again on Friday, anticipation will be high, and someone could soon find themselves holding one of the biggest lottery prizes Canada has ever seen.
