World Darts Championship Roars Back After Christmas With Blockbuster Schedule
So, if you’ve been waiting for the darts to fire back up after Christmas, the wait is officially over. The 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship is back at Alexandra Palace, and the post-Christmas schedule has now been confirmed. After the festive pause, the tournament resumes on Saturday, December 27, and from this point on, it’s all about survival, momentum, and chasing that famous Sid Waddell Trophy.
By the time play resumes, the field has been trimmed down to the final 32 players. What’s been set up is a packed round three, spread across three intense days, with every session featuring big names and potential drama. The defending champion Luke Littler will be right back in the spotlight on Saturday evening, where he’s set to face Austrian veteran Mensur Suljovic. That match alone feels like a clash of styles, and it’s already being talked about as a key test of Littler’s title defence.

Saturday also brings plenty of star power elsewhere. Stephen Bunting, one of the crowd favourites at Ally Pally, is scheduled for an evening showdown against James Hurrell, while fifth seed Jonny Clayton is expected to headline the afternoon session. From the opening throw on Saturday, it’s clear that there’s no easing back into this tournament.
Sunday keeps the momentum going. Former world champions will be back on stage, as Rob Cross and Gary Anderson both resume their campaigns in the afternoon session. The evening, though, is where things really heat up. Luke Humphries, last season’s world champion, is set for a huge clash against Gabriel Clemens. Alongside him, three-time champion Michael van Gerwen returns, while European Champion Gian van Veen also features, making it one of the strongest sessions of the entire championship so far.
Round three wraps up on Monday, December 29. The afternoon includes a fascinating tie between Nathan Aspinall and Kevin Doets, while the evening session promises fireworks as Josh Rock takes on Callan Rydz in what’s expected to be a fast-paced encounter. To raise the stakes even higher, the first two matches of round four will be played immediately after that final round three clash.
From there, everything moves quickly. The last 16 will be completed on December 30, before the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final take centre stage from January 1 to January 3. Every dart from here on feels heavier, every miss more costly, and Ally Pally is once again set to deliver its trademark chaos, noise, and unforgettable moments.
