There’s a big and bold vision now being laid out for America’s 250th birthday, and it’s being framed as nothing short of a once-in-a-generation celebration. With 2026 marking 250 years since the founding of the United States, President Donald Trump has unveiled sweeping plans that are meant to turn Washington, D.C. into the centerpiece of a year-long national party. And according to Trump, this isn’t just a celebration, it’s being billed as the most spectacular birthday America has ever had.

In a video announcement, Trump said the goal is simple: make July 4, 2026 unforgettable. Several headline events have already been revealed, starting with something that instantly caught attention — a UFC fight hosted at the White House. Scheduled for June 14, which is both Flag Day and Trump’s birthday, the event is expected to feature top-tier fighters competing in a single, high-profile night. The fight is set to be hosted by UFC CEO Dana White, and it’s being described as a one-of-a-kind spectacle never seen before at the White House.

But that’s just one piece of a much larger plan. Washington, D.C. will also host what’s being called the Great American State Fair on the National Mall. Even though D.C. isn’t a state, all 50 states will be represented with their own pavilions, showcasing culture, innovation, and history. The fair is planned to run from late June through early July and will anchor the Independence Day celebrations.

Another major highlight is the launch of the “Patriot Games,” a national athletic competition planned for the fall. High school athletes will be selected from every state and territory, with one young man and one young woman representing each. The games are being framed as a celebration of youth, competition, and American pride, with Trump emphasizing clear boundaries around fairness in sports.

The celebration calendar also includes a massive Fourth of July “Salute to America,” featuring a military flyover, a presidential address, and what Trump has promised will be the largest fireworks display in the world. On top of that, a National Prayer Event is planned for the spring, alongside a Memorial Day parade honoring fallen service members.

Overseeing all of this is a new nonpartisan organization called Freedom 250, led by former undersecretary of state Keith Krach. The group will coordinate with states, businesses, and federal agencies to deliver events nationwide.

From illuminated monuments to athletic competitions and historic firsts at the White House, the message is clear: America’s 250th birthday is being planned as a loud, proud, and unforgettable moment in history.
