As the clock ticks down to the end of 2025, classic rock fans are being given a very familiar and exciting way to welcome the new year. Coast-to-Coast Countdown 2026 is once again taking over New Year’s Eve television, and this year’s celebration is being packed with legendary music, iconic locations, and nonstop countdown energy from across the country.

The special is being produced by Nexstar Media Group and will air live on Wednesday, December 31, starting at 11:00 pm Eastern and 8:00 pm Pacific. The full broadcast is expected to run for about four and a half hours, making it possible for viewers to dip in at midnight or stay along for the entire ride. Because the show is syndicated, it will be carried by more than 100 Nexstar-owned and partner stations nationwide, and in many areas, it will also be streamed on local station digital platforms with bonus content that won’t appear on TV.

What makes Coast-to-Coast Countdown stand out is its multi-city format. Instead of focusing on one stage, the celebration moves across time zones, allowing different parts of the country to shine. This year, the broadcast is originating from four major locations. Times Square in New York City anchors the night with the iconic ball drop. Dallas lights up the sky with a massive fireworks and drone show from Reunion Tower. Chandler, Arizona brings its own fireworks display from Gila River Resorts and Casinos, while Las Vegas closes things out with an extended rooftop fireworks finale along the Strip near Treasure Island.

Each city is being guided by its own hosts, adding personality and local flavor to the night. Times Square coverage will be led by JD Roberto and Marysol Castro. Arizona’s celebration is being hosted live from Rawhide Western Town by Brad Perry and Teresa Strasser, while Las Vegas duties fall to Michael Yo and Nikki Novak as they steer viewers through the Strip’s explosive finale.

Of course, music remains the backbone of the entire event. Throughout the night, performances will be woven between countdowns and city celebrations, featuring a lineup that reads like a classic rock hall of fame. Styx, Foreigner, Cheap Trick, Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon, 38 Special, The Marshall Tucker Band, UB40, Mac McAnally, and Bri Bagwell are all set to perform, giving fans plenty of reasons to keep watching.

For viewers who want familiar songs, big moments, and a family-friendly way to ring in 2026, Coast-to-Coast Countdown is being positioned as the perfect soundtrack to New Year’s Eve. It’s not just a countdown, it’s a cross-country party built around timeless music and shared celebration.
