PSEB 12th Result 2026 Declared: 91.46% Pass, Girls Dominate Merit List

A wave of anticipation has finally settled as the results for the Punjab School Education Board Class 12 examinations have been officially declared, revealing a strong overall performance with 91.46 percent of students clearing the exam. The announcement from the Punjab School Education Board has once again highlighted a consistent academic trend, with girls significantly outperforming boys and securing top positions in the merit list.

The results, released through the board’s official portal PSEB Official Website, show that out of more than two and a half lakh candidates who appeared this year, a large majority have successfully passed. Girls recorded a notably higher pass percentage compared to boys, continuing a long-standing pattern of strong female academic performance in the state board examinations. In fact, the merit list itself has been topped entirely by girls, with three students securing perfect scores and leading the academic rankings.

Across streams, performance has remained steady and competitive. Commerce students have emerged with the highest success rate among all streams, followed closely by Science and Humanities. The data also reflects strong performance from government, aided and private institutions, with non-government schools recording the highest pass percentage overall.

Students were able to access their results through multiple platforms, including SMS services and digital lockers via DigiLocker, ensuring quick and widespread accessibility at the moment of release. The board has also clarified that the online marksheets are provisional and original documents will be distributed through respective schools in the coming days.

Beyond the numbers, this year’s results carry wider implications. For many students, this outcome determines entry into higher education pathways, competitive exams and professional streams. A strong overall pass percentage signals academic stability in the state education system, while the gender gap in performance continues to raise important discussions around educational access, encouragement and long-term opportunity structures.

Students who did not meet the required passing criteria will still have a second chance through supplementary examinations, which will be scheduled shortly. This ensures that no academic year is entirely lost and provides another opportunity for progression.

As students, parents and educators reflect on the outcome, attention now shifts toward admissions, career choices and future academic planning. Stay tuned as we continue to bring updates on counselling schedules, revaluation processes and supplementary exam timelines as they are officially released.
