Alix Earle Issues Heartfelt Apology for Past Use of Racial Slurs
Social media star Alix Earle has recently found herself in the midst of controversy following the resurfacing of old screenshots from her teenage years where she used racial slurs directed at Black people. Now 23, Alix is known for her candid "get ready with me" videos and the highly popular podcast "Hot Mess with Alix Earle." However, this incident has forced her to confront a past mistake that has come back to haunt her.
In a recent TikTok post, Alix directly addressed her followers, offering a sincere apology and taking full responsibility for her actions. She acknowledged that her use of the slurs was deeply offensive and expressed regret for not addressing the issue sooner. "I am so, so sorry to everyone in the Black community and the Black community in my audience that I let down," she said in the video, emphasizing that the language she used does not reflect who she is today.

Alix admitted that she initially handled the situation poorly, partly due to advice she received to remain silent. "I just want to put this out here for you guys that that's not who I am as a person, that's not the way I speak, it's not what I stand for," she added.
The screenshots, which first surfaced years ago, started gaining traction earlier this month, reigniting the discussion around her past. Alix explained that she was only 13 at the time and did not understand the gravity of the words she used. Despite her young age at the time, she acknowledged that this is no excuse for her actions. "That absolutely is not the way I speak or what I stand for. I am deeply sorry that my words have hurt many and have led people to believe that I have any prejudice in my heart," Alix wrote in an Instagram story earlier this week.
Alix's apology also touched on her role as a public figure and the influence she has over her followers. She expressed concern that her silence might have been interpreted as acceptance of the slurs she used, which is far from the truth. "I don't want any young girls watching this and thinking that because I haven't said anything, I think it's okay," she said, stressing the importance of addressing the issue head-on.
