BTS' Jin and RM Celebrate Chuseok with Heartfelt and Playful Greetings
As Chuseok, the Korean Harvest Festival, unfolds, BTS’ Jin and RM have shared their unique and heartfelt wishes with fans, demonstrating their deep connection with ARMY even while serving in the military. Jin, known for his sincere and thoughtful approach, released a touching video to celebrate this special occasion. Clad in a traditional Hanbok, Jin greeted fans with a warm message, reflecting on the swift passage of time since his military discharge. He expressed his hope that fans are enjoying their holiday and encouraged them to make beautiful memories throughout the remainder of 2024. Concluding with a heartfelt wish, Jin said, “I hope you spend Hangawi full of happiness with your loved ones,” capturing the essence of Chuseok with a message of joy and togetherness.

In contrast, RM took a more playful route to mark the festival. On Instagram, he shared a humorous meme featuring a character questioning the unexpected appearance of Monday. Adding a clever twist, RM followed up with a drawing of scissors, playing on the similarity between the Korean word for scissors, ‘han gawi,’ and ‘Hangawi,’ another name for Chuseok. This creative wordplay not only highlighted RM's characteristic humor but also added a lighthearted touch to his festive greetings.
Chuseok, celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, is a time for families in South Korea to come together, honor their ancestors, and enjoy traditional foods. The festival is marked by various customs including wearing traditional attire, preparing special dishes, and participating in traditional dances and games. Despite the members of BTS being busy with their military duties—Jin having completed his service and J-Hope expected to finish next—Jin and RM’s festive messages underscore their enduring bond with their fans.
The Chuseok celebrations also serve as a reminder of BTS' upcoming reunion, anticipated in 2025 once all members complete their military service. Fans, while eagerly awaiting the group's return, continue to cherish these personal interactions from their idols. BTS remains a symbol of connection and celebration, even through the traditional festivities of Chuseok, bringing a touch of their unique charm to this cherished holiday.
