
Saudi Footballer Fahad Al-Muwallad in Intensive Care After Balcony Fall in Dubai
Fahad Al-Muwallad, a prominent Saudi footballer currently playing for Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League, is in intensive care following a serious accident while on holiday in Dubai. The 30-year-old winger, who has also represented Saudi Arabia on the international stage, including at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, suffered a fall from a second-storey balcony. The incident took place last Thursday, and Dubai police have confirmed that investigations into the cause of the fall are ongoing.
Al-Muwallad’s condition is critical, and he remains under intensive care at Dubai’s Rashid Hospital, where medical teams are providing round-the-clock treatment. According to reports, he sustained multiple fractures from the fall. His club, Al-Shabab, issued a statement acknowledging the situation, describing the incident as a “health emergency,” and expressing their wishes for a speedy recovery for the player.

Fahad Al-Muwallad has had a notable career, predominantly spent with Saudi club Al-Ittihad, where he played almost 250 games, scoring 76 goals. His career also briefly extended beyond Saudi Arabia, when he became the first Saudi player to appear in Spain's La Liga, having joined Levante on loan in 2018. Though he only made two appearances during his time in Spain, it marked a historic milestone in his career and for Saudi football.
Al-Muwallad’s international achievements are equally impressive. He has earned 78 caps for the Saudi national team, scoring 17 goals, and was part of the squad that competed in the 2018 World Cup and the AFC Asian Cup.
