This came just 7:18 into the third period, after Jack Hughes expertly fed Cotter with a pass from the right wing, allowing him to skate into the slot and deliver a precise wrist shot. Timo Meier later sealed the deal, pushing the score to 3-1 with a well-placed shot from the left post at 14:14. This goal followed a near miss from Jesper Bratt, whose wraparound attempt hit the right post before deflecting into Meier's path.
