Five Alleged OTF Members Face Charges in Murder-for-Hire Plot Retaliating for King Von's Death
A serious development in the ongoing violence linked to Chicago’s hip-hop scene has emerged as five men face federal charges in California. These men, allegedly connected to Lil Durk’s Only the Family (OTF) collective, are accused of plotting a murder-for-hire against Georgia-based rapper Quando Rondo. The indictment, unsealed in a Los Angeles federal court, claims that the motive behind the plot was retaliation for the 2020 killing of King Von, a well-known rapper and OTF member.
The five individuals charged—Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston—face multiple serious accusations, including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and using a machine gun in a violent crime that resulted in a death. If convicted, these charges could lead to severe penalties, including life imprisonment or even the death penalty. Prosecutors argue that these men orchestrated the August 2022 shooting that left Saviay’a Robinson, Quando Rondo’s cousin, dead.

According to the indictment, the OTF members flew to Los Angeles to track down Quando Rondo. Using rented cars and credit cards tied to OTF, they allegedly followed him for days, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. The group eventually found Rondo at a gas station in West Hollywood. Although the intended target survived, his cousin was killed in the hail of bullets.
The indictment further reveals a grim connection to Chicago’s drill music culture, known for its raw lyrics and street violence. OTF, founded by Lil Durk, has faced accusations of operating as a criminal organization, with some members involved in violent feuds. The same collective has been linked to another high-profile case—the 2020 killing of Chicago drill rapper FBG Duck, which led to several convictions earlier this year.
This plot highlights the tragic escalation of violence between rival factions in the hip-hop world, where personal feuds and music often intertwine with deadly consequences.
