North Carolina Music Legends Unite for Hurricane Relief at Bank of America Stadium
Four of North Carolina’s most renowned musical talents are coming together for a very special cause this month: helping those affected by Hurricane Helene. On Saturday, October 26, Luke Combs, Eric Church, and James Taylor—each a star in their own right—will headline the "Concert for Carolina" at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Adding to the star power is bluegrass sensation Billy Strings, who despite hailing from Michigan, has a deep connection to North Carolina due to his many performances across the state.
This benefit concert is designed to raise funds for Hurricane Helene relief, with all proceeds being split between Combs and Church’s charitable foundations. Both of these country superstars, who were raised in North Carolina, have expressed how deeply the state has influenced their music and lives, making this concert an especially personal endeavor. Luke Combs, born in Huntersville and raised in Asheville, will distribute the proceeds through Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, and an additional organization yet to be revealed. Similarly, Church’s foundation, Chief Cares, will ensure that well-managed, efficient charities swiftly direct aid to the most affected families in the region.

In addition to the music, the concert will be hosted by ESPN’s Marty Smith and Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley, adding a lively and engaging element to the event. More artists are expected to be announced as the event date approaches.
Luke Combs is no stranger to the big stage at Bank of America Stadium—he previously sold out two nights in July 2023. However, this will be Eric Church's debut headlining performance at the venue. Church recently released a song titled "Darkest Hour," dedicated to the heroes who step up in times of crisis, with all royalties from the song going toward hurricane relief efforts.
James Taylor, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with deep ties to Chapel Hill, brings his legendary career to the stage, and Billy Strings, though the youngest performer at 32, brings Grammy-winning bluegrass excellence to the event. Both musicians share a deep appreciation for the state of North Carolina, making the event an emotional homecoming of sorts.
In a statement, Church expressed how deeply connected he feels to his home state, sharing his hope that the concert will shine light in these dark times for the Carolinas. As fans across the state eagerly await the concert, the event promises to be an unforgettable night of music and community, aimed at helping North Carolina recover and rebuild from the devastating storm.
Tickets for the "Concert for Carolina" go on sale Thursday, October 10 at 10 a.m., with all details available on the event's official website. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early, as this historic concert is expected to sell out quickly.
