Edmonton Oil Kings Embrace Holiday Spirit with Christmas Tree-Themed Jerseys for Teddy Bear Toss

The Edmonton Oil Kings are getting into the festive spirit in a big way this year as they unveil their latest holiday-inspired jerseys for the annual Teddy Bear Toss game. Kicking off the celebration on November 21, 2024, the team revealed their new Christmas tree-themed uniforms, which will make their on-ice debut during the game against the Red Deer Rebels on November 24, 2024, at Rogers Place.

These vibrant jerseys are designed to capture the magic of the holiday season, with intricate details that resemble a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The front, back, and sleeves are covered with rich green pine needle patterns, adorned with multicolored ornaments and sparkling lights. The Edmonton Oil Kings' logo sits proudly on the chest, topped with a dusting of snow, while gold and silver tinsel stripes add an extra touch of holiday flair to the waist and sleeves. The collar and shoulder yoke are accented with finer gold tinsel, bringing a little extra sparkle to the overall festive look. A playful teddy bear, wearing a crown, is positioned just above the waist on the left side, adding a fun touch to the design.

This tree-inspired theme extends to the team’s socks, where gold and silver tinsel run around each leg, completing the festive attire. The jerseys will be paired with the Oil Kings' signature blue pants and gloves. The back of the jerseys is just as dazzling, with metallic silver numbers outlined in red, while the nameplates feature silver lettering on a bold red background, further emphasizing the holiday cheer.

As part of the holiday tradition, the game-worn jerseys will be raffled off during the game, with all proceeds benefiting Santas Anonymous, a local children’s charity that ensures that underprivileged kids receive gifts during the Christmas season. In addition to the jerseys, the stuffed toys thrown onto the ice after the Oil Kings score their first goal will also be donated to Santas Anonymous, helping to bring joy to even more children. Since the beginning of the Teddy Bear Toss tradition in 2007, the Oil Kings have collected over 160,000 stuffed animals and raised more than $200,000 for charity.

The excitement around this annual event continues to grow, and with a special jersey design like this, it's clear that the Edmonton Oil Kings are ready to make the holidays even more memorable for their fans and the community. The game, scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. MT on November 24, promises to be a thrilling experience, with limited tickets still available for purchase. Fans attending are encouraged to bring multiple stuffed toys, preferably in clear plastic bags, to participate in the Teddy Bear Toss. For those who don’t have toys to donate, bags will be provided free of charge at the arena.

This Christmas-themed jersey is just one example of how the Oil Kings continue to connect with their fans and make a positive impact in the Edmonton community, all while celebrating the season of giving.
