Michael Fassbender’s latest venture, The Agency , premiering November 29 on Paramount+ with Showtime, places the acclaimed actor in a riveting world of international espionage. Known for his transformative performances in films like Steve Jobs , Shame , and X-Men , Fassbender brings his signature intensity to the role of Martian, a seasoned CIA operative grappling with personal and professional upheaval.
Set against the backdrop of London’s high-stakes intelligence arena, The Agency explores the complex lives of spies, blending suspense with emotional depth. Martian is pulled from a covert assignment in Ethiopia, abruptly forced to navigate a "normal" life in London. As he reconnects with estranged loved ones, including a teenage daughter harboring mixed feelings about his long absences, he also faces the psychological toll of his work. Simultaneously, he’s tasked with training a new recruit while unraveling the mystery of a missing operative in Ukraine.
Fassbender’s portrayal of Martian is layered and compelling, capturing the internal conflict of a man torn between duty and humanity.
