Luton Stuns Derby County with Last-Minute Heroics to Claim 2-1 Victory
Luton Town pulled off a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory against Derby County in a thrilling EFL Championship encounter at Kenilworth Road. The hosts looked destined to leave the field with nothing until an 89th-minute equalizer followed by a stoppage-time winner sent their supporters into wild celebration.
The match, held under the floodlights on Friday night, had an intense pace from the first whistle, with Luton looking promising in attack. Early on, striker Elijah Adebayo showed his ability by winning a dangerous free-kick after being fouled by Derby's defense. Mpanzu unleashed a powerful volley that took a deflection off teammate Tom Holmes, sending it past Zetterstrom to level the score. In the dying seconds of the game, Luton completed their comeback. A Derby clearance ricocheted off Chong into the path of Adebayo. His powerful shot was brilliantly saved, but Morris was there to follow up and score the winner. His strike, which took a deflection off Derby’s Sonny Bradley, flew into the top corner, sealing all three points for Luton in the 96th minute.
