Volaris Flight Forced to Divert After Passenger Attempts to Hijack Plane
In a startling incident on Sunday, a passenger aboard a Volaris flight from El Bajío to Tijuana allegedly attempted to hijack the aircraft, attempting to force the plane to divert to the United States. The 31-year-old Mexican man, identified only as Mario N, was traveling with his wife and two children when he reportedly became aggressive during the flight. The alarming situation led to a rapid response from the crew, who followed established security protocols to prevent further escalation.
According to Volaris, after the plane had taken off from El Bajío, the passenger tried to take control of the aircraft. Witnesses claim that he grabbed a flight attendant, holding a pen to her neck, before attempting to open one of the plane's doors. His actions prompted the crew to act swiftly, and with the help of other passengers, the man was restrained. As a result, the flight was immediately diverted to Guadalajara, where it made an emergency landing.

Mexican authorities, including the National Guard, were quickly notified and took the passenger into custody without further incident.
