Cathay Pacific Relaunches Direct Flights from Hong Kong to Rome This Summer
Cathay Pacific is marking a significant expansion in its European network by relaunching direct flights between Hong Kong and Rome, effective June 5, 2025. This return service, which had been temporarily suspended in February 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is part of the airline’s broader strategy to boost international connectivity and cater to rising travel demands.
The new route will run three times a week, providing travelers with a convenient and direct link to Italy’s iconic capital city. Rome will become Cathay’s second Italian destination after Milan, where the airline already operates five weekly flights. From this summer, those flights to Milan will increase to a daily service, providing more flexibility and options for travelers heading to Italy. This expansion is part of Cathay Pacific’s broader strategy to increase its European destinations, which now total 12.
