The Chinese New Year is fast approaching, and Birmingham is gearing up to welcome the Year of the Snake in grand style! This highly anticipated celebration will take place on Saturday, February 1st, and Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 , co-produced by the Birmingham Chinese Festival Committee and Birmingham Hippodrome. The two-day festival promises an unforgettable experience, blending rich traditions with vibrant modern performances.

What makes Chinese New Year unique is its connection to the lunar calendar, meaning the date changes each year. In 2025, the New Year officially begins on Wednesday, January 29th , ushering in the Year of the Wood Snake. People born under this zodiac sign are often seen as wise, charming, and determined. The Wood Snake, in particular, is associated with creativity, logical thinking, and cool-headedness—qualities we could all aspire to channel this year!
