Matthew Lillard Returns forScream 7—Is Stu Macher Really Alive?
Alright, horror fans, buckle up because Scream 7 is bringing back a fan favorite—Matthew Lillard is officially returning as Stu Macher! Yeah, you heard that right. The same Stu who got a TV smashed on his head in Scream (1996). If you thought that was the end of him, well, it’s the Scream franchise—no one’s ever really dead, are they?

So, let’s talk about how this is even possible. The last time we saw Stu, he was bleeding out on the floor, crushed by an old-school CRT television. Most of us assumed he was done for, but in horror, unless you see a body burned, buried, and exorcised , there's always a chance for a comeback. There have been rumors for years that Stu somehow survived, and now, it looks like Scream 7 is making that a reality. But how? Is he back in a flashback? A hallucination? Or did he spend the last 30 years plotting his return from the shadows?
And if that wasn’t enough, we’re also getting the return of Scott Foley as Roman Bridger, the Ghostface mastermind from Scream 3 . Roman was definitely killed—Sidney shot him right in the forehead. But hey, this franchise loves a good twist, so could he have faked it? Or maybe we’re about to see some crazy supernatural elements in Scream 7 ?
One thing is for sure—Kevin Williamson, the mastermind behind the original Scream , is back in the director’s chair, so this sequel is about to get wild . With Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and a mix of returning and fresh faces, Scream 7 is stacking up to be one of the most unpredictable installments yet.
So, what do you think? Did Stu somehow survive all these years, or is there another twist coming our way? Either way, I think we can all agree—Ghostface is far from done.
