Prison Officer Linda De Sousa Abreu Jailed After Sex with Inmate Captured on Video
Linda De Sousa Abreu, a 30-year-old prison officer from Fulham, London, was sentenced to 15 months in prison after pleading guilty to misconduct in a public office. The case came to light after explicit footage surfaced online showing Abreu having sex with a convicted burglar, Linton Weirich, inside his prison cell at HMP Wandsworth, a high-security facility in south London. The video, filmed by another inmate using an unauthorized mobile phone, went viral in 2024, sparking a public outcry and investigation.
Abreu's actions were caught on camera in June 2024, and the video revealed her engaging in sexual activity with Weirich with what the judge described as “evident enthusiasm.” The filming prisoner can be heard offering commentary, encouraging the encounter by saying phrases like “Guys, we made history” and “This is how we live at Wandsworth bruv.”

The court heard that Abreu had engaged in multiple sexual encounters with Weirich on the same day. One of these incidents was even accidentally recorded by her prison-issued body camera while she performed oral sex on him. The other involved sexual intercourse. The judge noted that these incidents were not isolated but part of a repeated pattern of behavior, which had put fellow officers and the safety of the prison environment at risk.
Abreu, who is also an OnlyFans model and appeared on a Channel 4 documentary series about swinging, admitted to three separate sexual encounters with Weirich. In addition to the sexual misconduct, Abreu's actions undermined years of efforts to promote respect for female officers within the male-dominated environment of the prison.
The Governor of HMP Wandsworth, Andrew Davy, made a statement to the court, expressing how Abreu's actions had undone years of hard work in creating a professional and respectful environment for female officers. The public reaction was swift, with many criticizing the breach of trust and authority within the prison system.
Abreu's defense lawyer, Rajiv Menon KC, argued that her mental health issues, including a severe personality disorder combined with ADHD, contributed to her reckless behavior. However, the court ruled that this did not excuse her actions, especially given the serious implications for the prison's security and operations.
The judge sentenced Abreu to 15 months in prison, with half of the sentence to be served in custody and the remainder on licence. Despite her guilty plea and the mitigating factors presented by her defense, the sentence reflects the severity of her actions and the breach of the public’s trust.
