Sara Sharif’s Killer Father Slashed in Prison Attack with Tuna Tin Lid
Urfan Sharif, the father responsible for the brutal murder of his 10-year-old daughter, Sara Sharif, recently became the target of an ambush in HMP Belmarsh, South London. Just weeks into his life sentence, Sharif, 43, was attacked by two fellow inmates on New Year’s Day. The men reportedly used a jagged tuna tin lid as a weapon to slash Sharif’s throat and face, leaving him with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have confirmed that the assault is under investigation, although details remain scarce.
Sharif’s conviction, alongside his partner Beinash Batool, for the horrific murder of his daughter, shocked the nation. Sara endured years of abuse, including being beaten, burned, and bitten. Tragically, she died in August 2023 from multiple injuries, including 25 fractures and 71 external wounds, some of which were inflicted by her father. Despite clear evidence of Sara’s suffering, social services failed to intervene effectively, and the authorities missed numerous opportunities to rescue her from the abusive environment.
