Blazers Edge Out Suns in Overtime Thriller
Man, what a game! If you missed the Suns vs. Trail Blazers matchup, you missed one of the wildest finishes of the season. Portland took down Phoenix in an absolute nail-biter, winning 121-119 in overtime. This wasn’t just any regular-season game—it was a rollercoaster ride packed with clutch shots, last-minute blunders, and some serious drama.
The game was neck and neck all the way, with both teams going at each other with intensity. Kevin Durant was, well, Kevin Durant—scoring 27 points and hitting big shots down the stretch. But the Blazers weren’t backing down. Anfernee Simons came through with a clutch jumper over Durant, and Jerami Grant added a dunk in the final seconds of regulation that looked like it might seal the deal for Portland.
But hold on—things got crazy. Up by three with just two seconds left, the Blazers made a defensive mistake, leaving Royce O’Neal wide open. He drained a three, sending the game to overtime.

In OT, the Blazers took control behind Jerami Grant and Deandre Ayton. Ayton, playing against his former team, was an absolute beast—dropping 25 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. He even hit some key free throws, which is not exactly his specialty. But the weirdest moment? With just seconds left, Deni Avdija fouled Devin Booker on a three-point attempt. Huge mistake. Booker had a chance to tie it, but he missed one of his free throws, leaving the Suns down by one.
Then came the final sequence—Ayton, of all people, hit another free throw to put Portland up by three. On the last possession, Grant made the play of the night, snatching an offensive rebound off a missed free throw to ice the game. And just like that, the Blazers pulled off a thrilling win.
Devin Booker was incredible for Phoenix, dropping 34 points and making history as the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. But even with that milestone, it wasn’t enough. The Suns now drop to 25-24, while the Blazers, riding a hot streak, have won four straight and eight of their last nine.
What a statement win for Portland. They might not be a top contender, but right now, they’re playing with confidence, energy, and a whole lot of fight. If they keep this up, they might just turn their season around.
Next up, the Blazers take on the Indiana Pacers. If this game was any indication, you won’t want to miss what’s coming next.
