Quinten Post Shines Despite Warriors' Tough Loss
Quinten Post is making waves in the Golden State Warriors lineup, and his latest performance proves he’s more than just a rookie filling in. In the Warriors’ 131-128 loss to the Utah Jazz, Post put up a solid stat line—10 points on 5-of-9 shooting, seven rebounds, and three assists. While it wasn't an eye-popping performance, it showed his ability to contribute meaningfully when given the opportunity.
With Kevon Looney out, Post stepped into the starting role, and although the Warriors fell short, he made his presence felt. He’s still finding his rhythm in the NBA, but there’s no denying his potential. Even though the Warriors are in a “win-now” mode, giving Post significant minutes could pay off in the long run. The team’s rotation is constantly evolving, and with the recent return of Draymond Green, Post is already seeing the benefits of playing alongside the veteran.

Post’s chemistry with Green was evident in their last game against the Magic, where Green’s playmaking created space for Post to capitalize. Of course, there’s still plenty for Post to work on—his defensive game, especially in pick-and-roll situations, remains a work in progress. But having Green on the floor gives him a security blanket, allowing him to focus on improving while knowing he has an elite defender backing him up.
Looking ahead, Post will have another chance to prove himself, with upcoming matchups against elite big men like Anthony Davis. He’s already acknowledged how much of a challenge that will be, but he’s embracing the learning process. If he keeps up his current trajectory, we could see him earning a more consistent role in Steve Kerr’s rotation.
