The 10 Coolest Motorhomes We Saw at the 2025 NEC Show
So, we just got back from the Caravan, Camping, and Motorhome Show at the NEC Birmingham , and wow—what a showcase! If you love campervans, adventure rigs, or just dream of hitting the road in style, this was the place to be. From rugged expedition vehicles to luxurious mobile homes, the variety was incredible. Let me take you through the 10 coolest things we saw at this year's event.
First up, the Citroën Holidays. This is Citroën's answer to the Volkswagen California, and it's a seriously competitive option. Built on the SpaceTourer MPV , it sleeps four comfortably, is well-equipped, and even comes with a built-in toilet—something VW doesn’t offer. And at £55,000 , it’s more affordable than its rivals.
Then we saw the Motorcraft Mercedes Axor 4x4 —an absolute beast of a vehicle. Designed for hardcore expeditions, this thing can handle extreme off-road conditions. The massive heavy-duty suspension and rugged design make it a standout. But inside? Surprisingly warm and inviting, a nice contrast to its tough exterior.
The Adria Supertwin Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 was another showstopper. Expedition-spec Sprinters were all over the show, but this one stood out for its sleek design and thoughtful features —including a fly screen over the side door, which is a simple but useful touch.

Now, if you’re into retro-style caravans , the Barefoot Caravan is a head-turner. Its adorable curvy design makes it look like something from a classic movie. But at nearly £40,000 , it’s definitely a luxury choice. The entire shell is made from a single piece of fiberglass , which is impressive but pricey.
For those who like their road trips extra luxurious, the Carthago Liner-for-Two Iveco Daily is pure indulgence. It has a king-size drop-down bed , a kitchen with slide-out storage , and a high-end interior finish . It’s basically a five-star hotel on wheels—just don’t expect the Iveco chassis to be the most fun to drive.
Then there’s the Coachman Travel Master Imperial Mercedes Sprinter . Coachman is known for high-end motorhomes, and this one lives up to the brand’s reputation. It has a built-in microwave and even a wine rack , because why rough it when you can bring luxury on the road?
But if you don’t need a massive van, check out the Escapade Fiat Panda 4x4 . Yep, a tiny Fiat Panda turned into an adventure vehicle . It has a roof tent and a towbar-mounted Aero tent , meaning four people can sleep in it. Small, practical, and capable—it proves you don’t need a huge van to have an adventure.
The Escape Apex Ford Transit Custom was another standout. Mid-sized camper conversions are popular, but the Ford Transit Custom isn’t as common as the VW Transporter. This one looked great, was well-finished, and offers a more budget-friendly option compared to its VW competitors.
Oh, and we have to talk about the precision parking at NEC. Imagine cramming hundreds of vehicles into the exhibition hall, all perfectly lined up with barely an inch to spare. Whoever parked those deserves some serious respect!
Finally, the Kaktus Vans MAN TGE stole the show. It’s a four-wheel-drive beast , perfect for serious overlanders. But what really made it special? It’s been adapted for wheelchair users , featuring a custom crane that lifts the wheelchair in. It also has a huge, beautifully finished garage , making it one of the most practical and inclusive adventure vans we’ve ever seen.
Overall, the 2025 NEC Motorhome Show had something for everyone—from rugged off-road monsters to ultra-luxurious touring homes. Whether you're an experienced camper or just dreaming of hitting the open road, this show was pure inspiration. Would you go for a high-end luxury motorhome, or do you prefer a small, adventure-ready setup like the Fiat Panda 4x4? Let me know what you think! 🚐✨
