Canada Conducts Third Express Entry Draw in March for PNP Candidates
Hey everyone! Exciting news for immigration hopefuls—Canada has just held its third Express Entry draw for March, targeting candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued a total of 536 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to PNP candidates. To qualify, applicants needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 736 and had to have submitted their Express Entry profile before 2:02 PM UTC on March 12, 2025.
This draw follows two previous ones earlier this month: a French-language proficiency draw on March 6 and another PNP draw on March 3. The trend for 2025 so far shows a mix of draws alternating between the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), PNP, and French-speaking candidates, keeping up with Canada's evolving immigration priorities.
For those keeping track, here’s a quick summary of some of the recent Express Entry draws:
-
March 21 : French language proficiency – 7,500 ITAs, CRS 379
-
March 17 : Provincial Nominee Program – 536 ITAs, CRS 736
-
March 6 : French language proficiency – 4,500 ITAs, CRS 410

March 3 : Provincial Nominee Program – 725 ITAs, CRS 667
Looking back at February, we saw a mix of draws, including a Canadian Experience Class draw with 4,000 invitations and a CRS cutoff of 521 on February 5. The French-language draws in February also saw thousands of candidates invited, showing Canada’s continued commitment to welcoming French-speaking immigrants.
A significant update from IRCC this year is the introduction of new priority categories for 2025 , which now include education professionals alongside existing categories like French-language proficiency, healthcare, trade occupations, and social services. This adjustment reflects Canada’s strategy to fill labor shortages by prioritizing skilled workers in high-demand sectors.
For those new to the process, Express Entry is a point-based system managing three main economic immigration streams: the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). The system assigns CRS scores based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability. Candidates with a PNP nomination automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points , making them strong contenders in these draws.
One major change to watch for: IRCC has announced plans to remove additional CRS points for job offers in Spring 2025. This could impact the ranking of some candidates, so it’s essential to stay updated on policy shifts that may influence future draws.
For those aspiring to move to Canada, now is a great time to assess your eligibility and strengthen your Express Entry profile. Whether you qualify under PNP, CEC, or other categories, staying informed about these draws and policy updates is key to successfully navigating the immigration process.
Stay tuned for more updates on Canada’s immigration landscape. If you’re planning to apply, make sure your profile is up to date and aligns with the latest requirements. Best of luck to all applicants!
