Remembering Dominique Perry: A Bearcat Gone Too Soon

It’s a tough day for the Cincinnati Bearcats community as we say goodbye to one of our own—former defensive tackle Dominique Perry. News broke recently that Perry, who played for the Bearcats from 2020 to 2023, has passed away. It’s heartbreaking to see a young life cut short, especially someone who gave so much to the game and his team.

Perry was more than just a player—he was a part of the Bearcats family. He appeared in 17 games during his time with the team, recording 17 tackles and playing 67 total snaps. While stats might tell part of the story, those who knew him best will remember his dedication, his work ethic, and the energy he brought both on and off the field.

Following the news, many of his former teammates and friends took to social media to express their grief and pay their respects. Former UC punter Mason Fletcher shared a heartfelt message on Twitter, saying, “Tough day to be a Bearcat, rest well up there Domo.” It’s clear that Perry left a lasting impact on those who played alongside him. Quarterback Evan Prater also shared his condolences, reflecting on the brotherhood that bonds players together long after their college days are over.
