Tragic Shooting at Texas McDonald's Claims Innocent Life
This is a heartbreaking story coming out of Katy, Texas, where an innocent man lost his life in a senseless act of violence. Imagine just going out to pick up a Happy Meal for your grandkids and never making it back home. That’s exactly what happened to 61-year-old Jorge Arbaiza on Sunday night.
Jorge had gone into a McDonald’s to get food for his two grandchildren while his wife, Teresa, waited in the car with them. Suddenly, chaos erupted inside the restaurant. What started as a fistfight between two groups escalated into a shootout. At least two guns were drawn, and shots were fired in a crowded space filled with customers—including children.

Tragically, Jorge was caught in the crossfire. As gunshots rang out, people ran for their lives. Teresa saw people fleeing the restaurant but didn’t see her husband among them. Frantic, she called him. The words he spoke to her will forever haunt her: "I'm dying. I'm going to die." He had been shot multiple times. He was airlifted to a hospital, but despite the doctors' efforts, he did not survive.
A 26-year-old man, who was reportedly involved in the altercation, was also shot but survived. Meanwhile, investigators have been working tirelessly to track down those responsible. Security cameras captured footage of the suspects and their vehicles—one maroon SUV and one white sedan. Authorities have already identified a suspect vehicle and some of the individuals involved in the incident.
Jorge’s family is devastated. His widow, Teresa, has been clutching photos of him with their grandchildren, struggling to come to terms with this tragic loss. "He was crazy for his grandkids," she told reporters. Jorge was just trying to bring a little joy to his grandchildren that evening. Instead, his family is left grieving, demanding justice for his senseless death.
