Warriors Continue Hot Streak with Victory Over Trail Blazers
What a night for the Golden State Warriors! The team extended their winning streak to five games with a 130-120 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Stephen Curry came close to making history, needing seven three-pointers to reach the legendary 4,000-mark, but he fell just short, hitting five on the night. Despite that, he still managed an impressive 24-point performance, helping his team hold off a determined Portland squad.
One of the standout performances of the night came from Jimmy Butler, who recorded his first triple-double in a Warriors uniform. With 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, Butler continues to prove his worth since joining the team in early February. His presence has clearly made an impact, as Golden State has gone 12-2 since his debut and 12-1 when he plays.

Gary Payton II had a career night, dropping a personal-best 26 points, providing much-needed firepower for Golden State. Meanwhile, Buddy Hield, known for his sharpshooting, knocked down six three-pointers, contributing to the Warriors’ scorching 51.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Even 7-footer Quinten Post joined the deep-ball party, draining three triples of his own.
On the other side, the Trail Blazers fought hard, led by a phenomenal effort from Deni Avdija. Returning from injury, Avdija put up a season-high 34 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, and dished out six assists, becoming the first Blazer since Clyde Drexler in 1990 to post such a stat line. Anfernee Simons added 32 points of his own, but despite their efforts, Portland couldn’t close the gap after falling behind by 19 points early in the game.
Portland, playing on the second night of a back-to-back, showed signs of fatigue but still managed to make a game of it in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to just four points. However, the Warriors’ depth and firepower proved too much, and Butler sealed the game with a crucial offensive rebound late in the fourth quarter, securing his 18th career triple-double in the regular season.
For the Trail Blazers, injuries continue to be a concern, with Jerami Grant sidelined due to a lingering knee issue. Meanwhile, the Warriors were without rookie Brandin Podziemski, who missed his second straight game with back soreness.
Looking ahead, the Blazers will return home to face the New York Knicks, hoping to snap their four-game losing streak. The Warriors, on the other hand, will continue their seven-game homestand with a matchup against their Northern California rivals, the Sacramento Kings.
Another electrifying night in the NBA, and the Warriors continue to roll!
