Wildfires Rage Across Oklahoma as Evacuation Orders Issued
Folks, if you’re in Oklahoma right now, pay close attention because the situation is getting serious. Strong winds and dangerous wildfires are tearing through parts of the state, forcing thousands to evacuate their homes. Emergency orders have been issued, and many communities are in immediate danger.
Right now, wildfires are spreading rapidly across western and central Oklahoma. Areas near Triple X Road and 220th Street in Oklahoma County are seeing people fleeing as flames approach. Reports indicate that some residents are even stopping to record videos of the fires as they move in. But this is no time to take chances—if you're in an evacuation zone, leave now.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has confirmed multiple injuries due to the severe weather. A serious accident on Interstate 35 happened when a pickup truck slowed down in thick, blowing dust, causing a wreck that left six people injured. Authorities are urging drivers to be cautious as visibility continues to drop.

Mass power outages are also adding to the crisis. Nearly 58,000 power outages have been reported across the state, with Oklahoma Gas & Electric confirming that more than 22,000 of its customers are in the dark. Power lines have come down along I-240, forcing road closures and heavy traffic delays.
As for the fires, they are being fueled by extreme winds, with gusts reaching over 65 mph in some areas. Firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the blazes, but conditions remain volatile. Officials have issued a fire warning for eastern Roger Mills County and southwestern Dewey County, where flames are moving northeast at a dangerous rate.
Evacuation orders have been put in place for several areas, including parts of Stillwater, Cleveland County, and Norman. If you’re in an affected zone, find a safe place to go immediately. Emergency shelters have been set up at the Little Axe Recreation Center and CrossPointe Church, so don’t wait until it's too late to seek safety.
With winds expected to stay strong throughout the evening, fire danger remains extreme. Authorities are asking everyone to stay alert, follow evacuation orders, and avoid unnecessary travel. This is one of the most severe fire danger days Oklahoma has seen this year, and conditions are only worsening.
