Paul Gallagher, Brother of Oasis Stars, Faces Serious Criminal Charges

In some very serious and troubling news, Paul Gallagher — the older brother of Oasis legends Liam and Noel Gallagher — has been officially charged with a series of serious criminal offences, including rape. This story has understandably made headlines, given the Gallagher family's public profile, especially with Oasis currently enjoying a much-anticipated reunion tour.

According to police reports, Paul Gallagher, who's 59 and lives in East Finchley, is facing multiple charges. These include one count of rape, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making threats to kill, one charge of assault causing actual bodily harm, and a charge related to coercive and controlling behaviour. The alleged offences are said to have occurred over a two-year period, from 2022 to 2024.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that these charges came as a result of an investigation launched in 2024. It's also been noted that a woman connected to the case is currently being supported by specially trained officers. Paul Gallagher is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on August 27th.

Gallagher has not made a public statement, but his legal team has indicated that he has fully cooperated with police throughout the investigation and denies all allegations. They stated that he "looks forward to clearing his name."

For those unfamiliar, Paul Gallagher is the eldest of the three Gallagher brothers. While Liam and Noel became internationally known for their time in Oasis, Paul never joined the band. However, he has remained somewhat in the public eye through various projects, including writing a book in 1997 about his and his brothers’ upbringing, and later working as a DJ and photographer.

Interestingly, this all comes at a time when Oasis, with Liam and Noel reunited, are back on tour — their first joint performances in the UK since 2009. They've already played in Cardiff, Manchester, and London, with shows coming up in Edinburgh and Dublin before they head over to North America.
