Comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli Faces Trial Over Multiple Indecent Assault Allegations
There’s a serious and quite troubling case unfolding right now involving comedian and former TV personality Hardeep Singh Kohli. Recently, he appeared in court facing several accusations of indecent assault made by three women, with incidents allegedly stretching back over nearly a decade—from 2007 to 2016. The allegations paint a disturbing picture, with claims that these acts took place in various locations, including a BBC studio in Glasgow, hotels, and bars.

At the center of this case, it’s been reported that one of the alleged incidents happened at the BBC Scotland headquarters at Pacific Quay. The court was told that Kohli, who is 56 and known for his past appearances on shows like The One Show and The Wright Stuff , is accused of grabbing a woman’s buttocks and hugging her without consent. There are also claims that inappropriate sexual comments were made, as well as other related assault charges.
Further accusations include an alleged indecent assault at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow, where Kohli is said to have stroked a woman’s back and touched her hair, and another claim at the Cross Keys Hotel in Canonbie, Dumfries and Galloway. In that instance, it is alleged he seized a woman’s arm, lunged toward her, and tried to kiss her. Interestingly, a special defense of consent has been lodged for this particular charge, indicating that his legal team may argue the interaction was not unwelcome or criminal.
Moreover, Kohli faces a charge related to disorderly conduct and breach of the peace, where it’s alleged he exposed himself and performed a sexual act on the same occasion as one of the assaults. The final accusation involves a woman at the former Yes Bar in Glasgow city center, where Kohli allegedly seized her, hugged her, kissed her on the mouth, and attempted to extend the kiss in an inappropriate manner.
During the court hearing, Kohli denied all six charges brought against him. His defense lawyer indicated readiness for a trial expected to last around four to five days, with advocate Sarah Livingstone assigned to represent him. The prosecution plans to call eight witnesses in total, including seven civilian witnesses and a police officer, indicating the case will involve testimonies from multiple parties.
Sheriff John McCormick has set the trial date for November and allowed Kohli to remain out on bail in the meantime. As the case progresses, it is expected to attract significant public and media attention given Kohli’s previous public profile and the serious nature of the charges.
For now, the legal process will take its course, with both sides preparing for what promises to be a detailed and closely watched court battle.
