Chappell Roan to Headline Laneway Festival 2026

Laneway Festival 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting music events on the calendar, and the buzz is already electric. For the first time, the powerhouse pop sensation Chappell Roan will headline the festival, marking her first national tour of Australia and her very first New Zealand appearance. Fans are thrilled, because this isn’t just a regular set—Roan is bringing the full spectacle that wowed audiences at Reading and Leeds earlier this year. That means the fantasy castle stage, her all-female band, and those dramatic gothic fairytale costumes that have become her signature. It’s expected to be big, bold, and unforgettable.

But she won’t be the only one stealing the spotlight. The 2026 line-up is stacked with an incredible mix of international stars and local legends. Wet Leg, Wolf Alice, Role Model, and the ever-mesmerizing PinkPantheress are all confirmed, alongside a rare collaboration from Swedish rap icons Yung Lean and Bladee. For those who crave something heartfelt and emotional, artists like Lucy Dacus, Cavetown, Wisp, and Mt. Joy will be there to tug on the heartstrings. And if high energy is more your vibe, The Dare will be firing up the dancefloor.

Of course, Laneway has always been a champion of homegrown talent, and 2026 is no different. Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Blusher, Shady Nasty, Djanaba, and plenty more Aussie acts will be representing on stage. With so much talent in one place, it feels like there’s something for every kind of festival-goer—whether you’re there to belt out anthems, dance until you drop, or just soak in the atmosphere.

The festival itself is going through a transformation too. For the first time, it’s moving its Queensland stop from Brisbane to the Gold Coast, with new venues also being introduced in Adelaide and Perth. An extra stage has even been added to the East Coast dates, making the experience feel bigger and more cinematic than ever. Some fans in Brisbane have expressed disappointment at the change, especially since the RNA Showgrounds had become such a convenient and beloved location. Still, organisers promise that the new Southport site will handle the crowds just as well, and the Gold Coast will bring its own vibrant energy to the event.

Laneway Festival 2026 kicks off in Auckland on February 5, before heading to the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. Tickets go on presale September 23, with general sales opening the following day. And if you’re feeling lucky, triple j is even giving listeners the chance to snag free passes.

With a line-up this strong and so many surprises in store, Laneway Festival 2026 isn’t just another summer festival—it’s already looking like the event that music lovers will be talking about all year.
