Jerry Lawler Thanks Fans After Suffering Minor Stroke

Jerry “The King” Lawler, the legendary professional wrestler and longtime wrestling commentator, recently opened up about a serious health scare that reminded him—and his fans—just how fragile life can be. At 75 years old, Lawler has faced health issues before, but in early September he suffered what doctors described as a “minor” stroke while at his condo in Florida.

During an interview with FOX13 Memphis, Lawler admitted that in the days leading up to the stroke, he had not been taking his prescribed medication as he should have. The consequences came quickly. He described moments where his vision failed him and his sense of recognition completely disappeared. In fact, he recalled returning home after the hospital stay and not even recognizing his own house. Even more frightening, he explained that while lying in his hospital bed, he could not recognize close family members when they came to visit.

This most recent stroke was actually his third. Fans may remember that he previously suffered strokes in both 2018 and 2023, and even endured a heart attack live on air during a broadcast of WWE’s “Monday Night RAW” back in 2012. Despite these serious challenges, Lawler has always managed to recover and return to public life. His resilience has been a defining part of his journey, and once again he is focusing on recovery with determination.

What truly stood out to him during this ordeal, however, was the outpouring of love and support from fans all over the world. He said people came forward with prayers, words of encouragement, and messages of gratitude for everything he has meant to wrestling. According to him, every one of those gestures has carried deep meaning. Lawler was quick to express just how grateful he feels, emphasizing that support from the public has given him extra strength during this difficult time.

Even though he missed a scheduled appearance in Cincinnati due to the health scare, those close to him have reassured fans that he is now resting at home with family and caregivers by his side. His daughter has been helping him transition back to his primary residence, and the plan now is simple: focus on rest, rehabilitation, and making sure his medication is taken consistently.

Lawler’s career spans decades, from his championship wrestling days to his iconic commentary role alongside Jim Ross during WWE’s peak years. He has been a constant presence for wrestling fans, and many still fondly call him “The King.” Seeing him in good spirits after such a frightening health event has brought relief to his supporters.

As Lawler himself put it, he is feeling “pretty good” now and is determined to move forward. While the latest scare was a reminder of the importance of health and caution, it also showed the wrestling icon how loved he truly is. For fans, the message is clear: Jerry Lawler may have been knocked down, but he is not finished. His fight to recover continues—and he is thankful not to be fighting it alone.
