LeBron James Returns to Full Practice as Lakers Eye His Season Debut
LeBron James is back in action, as the Los Angeles Lakers star has completed a full practice session for the first time this season, following a lengthy absence due to sciatica. The 40-year-old, who is in his 23rd NBA season, had been sidelined for nearly six weeks, missing training camp and the first part of the regular season. However, after participating in Monday's practice, James is hopeful to make his season debut on Tuesday when the Lakers face the Utah Jazz.

Sciatica, a painful condition that affects the lower back and legs, has been a significant setback for James. He shared his struggle with the condition, describing it as one of the most difficult physical challenges he’s ever faced. "If you’ve had it, you know what it's about," James said, emphasizing the severity of the pain. Despite the setback, James remains optimistic and focused on his return, acknowledging that this situation has tested him both mentally and physically.
The Lakers have fared well without him, holding a strong 10-4 record and ranking fourth in the Western Conference. James, who is also the NBA's all-time leading scorer, made it clear that his main priority now is to regain his physical form. "My lungs feel like a newborn’s," he joked, referring to the toll of not playing for such an extended period. "I need to get my lungs back up to a grown man’s level." Beyond his physical recovery, he also noted the toll it has taken on his voice, with practice requiring him to speak loudly and assertively as he gears up for game action.
James’ return to the court marks the beginning of a crucial stretch for the Lakers as they look to capitalize on his presence. The team has managed without him, but his leadership and playmaking abilities will be key as they continue their push for a high playoff seed. The Lakers’ next game against the 5-8 Jazz presents an ideal opportunity for James to make his comeback, and fans are eagerly awaiting his return.
