The world of drag is about to get a thrilling twist as two of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”’s most iconic stars — Violet Chachki and Gottmik — are joining forces for a show unlike any other. Their new production, The Knockout Tour , is heading to Portland’s Roseland Theater on November 7, promising a mix of circus stunts, live vocals, and pure drag excellence, all wrapped in a boxing-themed extravaganza.

Now, don’t be fooled by the title — this isn’t a feud. Though pop culture loves its rivalries, from Drake vs. Kendrick to Nicki Minaj vs. the world, this face-off between Chachki and Gottmik is more of a creative collaboration. The duo, who also co-host the popular No Gorge podcast, are playing with the energy of competition while celebrating the art forms that brought them together.

Gottmik explained that the idea was to bring their unique strengths to the same stage, without overlapping or competing. Instead, each performer gets their “rounds” in the spotlight — much like a boxing match — but with sequins, aerial acrobatics, and electric stage energy replacing gloves and punches.

The show’s lineup also includes some of Portland’s finest local drag and performance talent — Boujee Cherry, Lylac, Dria Dore, and Jayla Rose Sullivan, who’s best known from Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls . Together, they’ll help set the stage for an unforgettable night of artistry and spectacle.

For those unfamiliar with their impressive backgrounds, Violet Chachki made history as the first male-bodied performer at Paris’s legendary Crazy Horse Cabaret, where she brought her signature mix of burlesque and glamour to new heights. She’s also known for her breathtaking aerial acts — something she’s bringing back for this tour. Gottmik, meanwhile, became Drag Race ’s first trans male contestant and has built a powerhouse career as a makeup artist for stars like Ariana Grande, Cindy Crawford, and Paris Hilton.

Their influence extends well beyond drag — both have graced Vogue covers, modeled for fashion giants like Versace and Gaultier, and even appeared in the Grammy-winning music video for Sam Smith and Kim Petras’s hit “Unholy.”

But The Knockout Tour is special because it’s entirely self-produced and self-curated. As Chachki explained, this time they’re not just performing — they’re managing every aspect of the production, from design to direction. It’s their vision, their art, and their passion brought to life.

Fans can expect a full sensory experience: aerial acts, live singing, lip-sync performances, dazzling costumes, and even a few unreleased songs. As Chachki put it, this show is about authenticity — breaking free from the “homogenized” drag that’s often seen today and reclaiming what makes each artist unique.

At its core, The Knockout Tour isn’t just about performance — it’s about community. Both Chachki and Gottmik see it as a way to uplift Portland’s queer and drag scenes, passing the torch to the next generation while staying rooted in creativity and self-expression.

Tickets for the one-night-only event range from $51.25 to $61.75 — and for anyone who loves bold art, fearless performance, and unapologetic self-expression, this is one show not to miss.
