Pokémon Go's "Young and Wise" Event: Baby Pokémon, Raids, and Bonuses Await!
The "Young and Wise" event in Pokémon Go is officially here, running from December 10th to December 14th, 2024. If you’re a fan of hatching eggs, battling in raids, and chasing rare Pokémon, then this event is definitely one you don't want to miss. There are exciting opportunities to earn extra rewards, including experience points (XP), special encounters, and even some fan-favorite Pokémon.
One of the main highlights of this event is the opportunity to hatch baby Pokémon from event-exclusive 2 km eggs. These include popular Pokémon like Togepi, Tyrogue, Smoochum, and Munchlax, all of which are tied to the "Young and Wise Hatch Challenge." In order to complete this challenge, you need to hatch these Pokémon exclusively from 2 km eggs—you can’t just catch them in the wild or trade for them. Once you’ve successfully hatched all the required Pokémon, you’ll be rewarded with 2000 XP and a Snorlax encounter. These tasks are only available until December 14th at 8 p.m. local time, so you’ll need to hatch those eggs quickly to claim your rewards.

In addition to hatching, the event also features a "Young and Wise Raid Challenge," where you can battle and defeat specific Pokémon in raids to complete another challenge. Pokémon such as Scraggy, Shinx, Phantump, and Tyrunt appear in one-star raids during the event. Once you defeat these Pokémon, you’ll earn 2000 XP and a chance to encounter the powerful Gible. Remember, the raid challenge also ends on December 14th, so don't miss out on your chance to take part in these exciting battles.
On top of the challenges, there are also field research tasks exclusive to the "Young and Wise" event. These tasks can be obtained by spinning PokéStops during the event. They include tasks like catching seven Pokémon, exploring 2 km, hatching two eggs, and winning two raids. Completing these tasks will reward you with encounters with Pokémon like Poliwag, Ralts, Teddiursa, Lillipup, Vullaby, and Snorlax. If you’re in need of some rare Pokémon encounters, these field research tasks are the perfect opportunity.
As for raids, the event brings some powerful bosses to the scene. You can find a variety of Pokémon in one-star, three-star, and five-star raids, including Mega Banette, Mega Latios, and the elusive Wyrdeer. Additionally, you can also participate in Max Battles, where Dynamax Pokémon will be waiting for you to face off against them. To get ready for these battles, don’t forget to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest.
Lastly, there are also event-exclusive 2 km eggs that you can hatch throughout the event. These eggs have a chance to yield a wide array of baby Pokémon, including the aforementioned Togepi, Tyrogue, Smoochum, and Munchlax, as well as some rarer Pokémon like Bonsly and Happiny.
In short, the "Young and Wise" event is packed with exciting activities, including challenges, raids, and bonuses. Whether you're a seasoned player or a newcomer, there's something for everyone. Be sure to take advantage of the double XP for hatching eggs and winning raids, and don’t forget to complete those field research tasks while you're out hunting down the rare Pokémon.
