Seventh seed Shintaro Mochizuki has once again proven why he’s one to watch! At the Bengaluru Open 2025 , he put an end to Hynek Barton’s dream run, defeating the Czech qualifier 7-6(5), 6-3 to advance to the semifinals . The 2019 Junior Wimbledon Champion showed incredible composure and skill to take down Barton, who had been in fine form throughout the tournament. Now, Mochizuki is set to face Australian James McCabe in what promises to be another thrilling encounter.

Mochizuki started the match in dominant fashion, winning the first game without losing a single point . He had a chance to break Barton early on, but the Czech fought back to hold his serve. As the match progressed, the intensity only grew. The first set was a tight battle , and it eventually went to a tiebreaker , where Mochizuki held his nerve to take the lead.

Another major result of the day saw Great Britain’s Billy Harris stun second seed Tristan Schoolkate in a rollercoaster three-set match, ending 6-2, 1-6, 7-5 . Harris, who entered the tournament as a lucky loser , proved that he belonged among the top contenders with a gritty performance.

In the doubles category , Australian duo Blake Bayldon and Matthew Romios secured their place in the final after beating the Indian pair Siddhant Banthia and Parikshit Somani 6-3, 7-6(6) . It was a tough match, especially in the second set, where Banthia and Somani pushed their opponents into a tiebreaker. However, the Australians managed to edge them out, keeping their title hopes alive.
